PTI set to surprize in General Elections 2024, Ansar Abbasi

PMLN is still dreaming and could not excite the voters.

At a time when the general elections are less than 6 weeks away, the political situation is intensifying and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is being suppressed administratively but apparently preparing to return to the election frenzy.

In the presence of reports that the party is not being allowed to hold public meetings and political rallies, the PTI is getting huge relief from the courts which is proving to be a boost to the party, its leadership and workers, who have been facing serious legal and criminal cases after 9 May incidents.

Many people are considering Muslim League-N as the “King’s Party” but despite the elections being so close, this party is looking like a dreamer. Although it was expected that after May 9, the Non-League would be able to assert its dominance over the Tehreek-e-Insaaf, but so far this is not happening.

Despite alleged administrative support, the PMLN is yet to start its election campaign to mobilize the masses. It seems that at a time when the pmln is waiting for an “engineered miracle”, the PTI leadership and its workers have got a big boost from some recent court decisions.

The Supreme Court’s decision in the cipher case and the Peshawar High Court’s decision against the Election Commission’s return of PTI’s election symbol “Bat” have breathed new life into the PTI leadership and workers. On Thursday, the Islamabad High Court granted an injunction till January 11 on Imran Khan’s plea in the cipher case.

After the Supreme Court’s relief in the cipher case, PTI leaders feared that Imran Khan could be sentenced by the trial court at any time. But now PTI has managed to get a delay in the trial after the Islamabad High Court injunction. PTI’s legal team is actively trying to get Imran Khan’s conviction in the Tosha Khana case overturned by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court had taken up the matter for hearing on Wednesday, but due to non-availability of judges, it was decided that the case would be taken up when the judges return from vacation. If the Supreme Court overturns Imran Khan’s sentence in the Tosha Khana case, then the founder chairman of PTI will be eligible to contest the general elections.

PTI leaders claim that they have the support of a large section of the people and if the bat symbol is on the ballot paper in the general elections, the party’s voters may be in for a surprise. And if Imran Khan gets permission to participate in the election, the chances of PTI giving a big surprise in the election will increase.

After the crackdown on the party after May 9, it was generally assumed that the PTI would continue to face difficulties in finding candidates for the general elections. But PTI candidates have left behind all other parties in filing nomination papers.

The number of PTI candidates who have submitted their nomination papers for the National and Provincial Assemblies seats for the February 8, 2024 elections is more than the number of such PTI candidates in the 2018 elections.
