Omar Ayub Khan to Challenge ISI’s phone tapping permission in the SC
This SRO is unconstitutional and against the fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution.
Islamabad (Sahiwal Updates) Leader of Opposition National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan has announced to challenge in court the notification of phone tapping permission to ISI.
Omar Ayub said that SRO 1005 (I)/2024 notification has been issued by the Form 47 government. In this notification, the ISI can tap the phone conversation of any person under the justification of national security.
The opposition leader said that an intelligence agency can be given complete authority to tap citizens’ phones only by a fascist government.
Shahbaz Sharif has practically cut his aorta with this decision. Omar Ayub said that this SRO will be the tool that ISI will use to blackmail and overwhelm all politicians and media persons including Bilawal Bhutto, Asif Zardari and Maryam Nawaz.
He further said that he will challenge this illegal notification in the court through his lawyer Dr. Babar Awan. This SRO is unconstitutional and against the fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution.
