Several roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been blocked due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) jalsa at Sangjani.

Metro bus services including red line, green line, orange line, blue line are closed in Islamabad, feeder routes and pink bus service are also closed.

Both sides of Islamabad Expressway and Lehtrar Road to Khanna Bridge are closed, Taxila to GT Road at Sangjani Point GT Road is closed to traffic in both directions, however the weekly Sunday Bazaar is open as usual.

Barakahu entrance to reach Islamabad is closed at mile seventeen, Motorway M2 Islamabad side is also closed.

Apart from this, all entrances and exits to the red zone except Margalla Road are closed, barricades have also been erected at Kalkarkhar, Balksar and Nila Dalha interchanges.

Which roads of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are open?

Motorway M2 Lahore-bound lane is open for traffic, Srinagar Highway is also open for traffic from both sides, Srinagar Highway route can be used to go to and from Islamabad Airport.

From Rawalpindi Railway Station, one can go to Peshawar Road via Srinagar Highway, Faqir Epi Road and IJP Road.

Motorways M1 and M2 are open for traffic, Srinagar Highway to Motorway is also open.

Heavy police force is deployed on the motorway and interchanges, while passengers going to Islamabad are facing travel difficulties due to road closures.
