At the 2024 MTV VMAs, Lisa—full name Lalisa Manobel—won her second best K-pop award, making history as the first soloist to win the category twice.

Rockstar, the black pink sensation’s return single, won an award on Wednesday, September 11 at New York’s UBS Arena.

“Rockstar Lisa is a significant comeback for me.” In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude for the victory and acknowledged BLINKS and Lillies everywhere. “It’s very, very amazing”.

The creator of LLOUD also gave credit to RCA Records and her recently established agency for enabling the victory.

The 27-year-old Thai-Korean rapper and singer Lisa made history with the most recent Moonman statuette by being the first soloist to win Best K-pop twice in VMA history.

It is important to remember that Lisa is the only solo artist to have ever won in this category. She won Best K-pop at the 2022 MTV VMAs with her solo song LALISA.

Together with her victory, Lisa sang a mashup of her two most recent hits, Rockstar and New Women, which she co-wrote with Spanish singer Rosalia.
