Pakistan Clinch T20 Series with 10-Wicket Victory Over Zimbabwe

Marumani departed for 16, and Bennett followed for 21, triggering a dramatic collapse.

Pakistan wrapped up a dominant 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second T20I at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Tuesday, clinching an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Sikandar Raza, Zimbabwe’s captain, won the toss and chose to bat, but the decision backfired as the hosts were bowled out for just 57 runs in the 13th over.

Pakistan made quick work of the modest target, finishing the chase in just 5.3 overs without losing a wicket.

Saim Ayub was the star of the chase, blasting 36 runs from 18 balls, which included six boundaries and a six. Omair Bin Yousuf supported him with an unbeaten 22 from 15 deliveries, featuring two fours and a six.

Zimbabwe had started their innings promisingly with openers Tadiwanashe Marumani and Biran Bennett putting on a 37-run stand.

Marumani departed for 16, and Bennett followed for 21, triggering a dramatic collapse.

The Zimbabwean middle order crumbled under the pressure of Pakistan’s spinners, with the team losing eight wickets for just 20 runs.

Sufiyan Muqeem was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers, finishing with exceptional figures of 5/3 in 2.4 overs, the best by a Pakistan bowler in men’s T20Is after Umar Gul’s 5/6.

Haris Rauf, Abbas Afridi, and Abrar Ahmed each claimed one wicket, while Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Irfan Khan provided solid support.

With the win, Pakistan secured the series with one match remaining, set to take place on December 5 at the same venue.
