Sahiwal (Sahiwal Updates – Election 2024) Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for Election 2024 in which he directed the administration to use all resources to conduct fair and peaceful elections on February 8.

He also directed to ensure a level playing field for all the candidates participating in the election. RPO Mehboob Rasheed, Deputy Commissioner Ikram ul Haq, Additional Commissioner Coordination Shafiq Ahmad Dogar, Director Local Government Dr. Saifullah, Regional Election Commissioner Syed Basit Ali Shah, District Election Commissioner Muhammad Athar Chaudhry, DSP City Rana Iftikhar Ahmed and other relevant officers were present in the meeting.

Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed said that in order to make the general elections peaceful, transparent and impartial, all the departments should keep close contact with each other so that the voters can exercise their right to vote easily and freely.

He said that the code of conduct should be strictly enforced during the election campaign. He said that there is a complete ban on the use of penaflexes of all sizes. He directed the concerned authorities to prepare the transportation and security plan soon.

On this occasion, RPO Sahiwal Mehboob Rasheed said that fool-proof security arrangements at the polling stations are among the priorities and all possible measures will be taken to maintain the law and order situation.

He further said that continuous communication will be maintained with DROs and AROs regarding security. Regional Election Commissioner Syed Basit Ali Shah said that arrangements are being made for the best facilities in connection with the general elections at all the polling stations. He further informed that the process of training of the staff posted at the polling stations is also going on.
