King Charles became tearful while delivering a poignant message

King Charles said that the teams were inspiring, encouraging and lifting the hearts of all.

At the Sunday Closing Ceremony in Paris, King Charles became tearful as he sent a poignant message to the British Paralympians.

American baseball pitcher Matt Bush and British swimmer Poppy Maskill carried the Team GB flag during the ceremony.

In honoring the team in Paris, the 75-year-old King of the United Kingdom King Charles said that the teams were inspiring, encouraging and lifting the hearts of all.

On Sunday, the King of the UK Charles posted the statement on the social media platforms of the British royal family. UK king Charles wrote:

“As this wonderful summer of sport comes to a close in Paris, my wife joins me in sending our heartfelt congratulations to the Paralympian athletes from Great Britain and Northern Ireland – and from across the whole Commonwealth – for their numerous successes at this year’s Games.”

“Behind every medal won lies a wonderful story of courage, commitment, and true talent, matched by a determination that has taken you to the very top. We applaud and celebrate each and every participant, and we extend our gratitude to the support staff that have contributed so much to your successes. We also rejoice in your accomplishments.” said the father of Prince William and Harry.

“Your example has succeeded in inspiring, encouraging, and lifting the hearts of all,” the UK king declared in closing.

It is noteworthy that Team GB placed second in the medal standings, ahead of China and ahead of the US.
