The missing album of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan released

17 years after the death of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the uncrowned king of the world of music, the last album recorded in his voice ‘Chain of Light’ has been released.

According to a message released on the official instagram account of the legendary Pakistani Qawal Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the album ‘Chain of Light’, which had been missing for more than 30 years, has now been released.

A short video has also been shared on Instagram in which Musician Peter Gabriel tells the story of rediscovering the lost album.

The album is available to fans on the Real World Recording Studios account on the video sharing platform YouTube.

This album was recorded in 1990 at Real World Studios, the 41-minute long album contains 4 Qawwalis, including Ya Allah Ya Rahman, Aaj Sukh Mitran Di, Ya Ghous Ya Meeran and Khabaram Rasid Imshab.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, popularly abbreviated as NFAK was a Pakistani singer, songwriter, and music director.

He was primarily a singer of qawwali, a form of Sufi devotional music. Often called the “Shahenshah-e-Qawwali”, he is considered by The New York Times to be the greatest Qawwali singer of all time.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan died on August 16, 1997 (age 48 years) in Cromwell Hospital, London, United Kingdom.

Peter Brian Gabriel is an English singer, songwriter and human rights activist.

He was the original lead singer of the progressive rock band Genesis. After leaving the band in 1975, he launched a solo career with “Solsbury Hill” as his first single.
