Police encounter in Sahiwal, one robber arrested, two escape
Under the right of self-determination, the police party also opened fire.
One dacoit has been arrested while two have managed to escape in a police encounter in the limits of Farid Town Police Station Sahiwal.
According to the details, Sahiwal police station Farid Town received information that three accused have snatched motorcycle 125 from the area of police station Ghala Mandi. During the blockade, three accused on 125 motorcycle came from the medical college road.
When the police signaled them to stop, instead of stopping, they fled towards 92/6R, which was chased by an official vehicle and also wirelessly rounded up the motorcyclists.
On seeing the vehicle, the accused started direct firing on the police party near Dera Jafar. Under the right of self-determination, the police party also opened fire.
After the firing stopped, one accused, Ali Ahmad, son of Muhammad Sultan of 97/6 R, was lying injured by the firing of his own companions, who gave the names of his two escaped companions as Muhammad Shahid son of Haq Nawaz of 88/6R and Umar Farooq son of Bashir Ahmed of 167 EB Tehsil Arifwala District Pakpattan.
125 motorcycle and 30 bore pistol were recovered from the spot. The injured accused Ali Ahmed was admitted to the District Headquarters hospital for treatment while the search for the other two accused is on. Injured accused Ali Ahmed is involved in 14 serious cases like theft and robbery.
