Provincial Secretary Industries and Commerce Dr. Ehsan Bhatta has visited Sahiwal division in detail.
He visited the offices of Punjab Food Authority and Food Department and reviewed the performance of both the departments in detail.
On this occasion, Divisional Officers of the concerned departments, Director Punjab Food Authority Asif Iqbal and Deputy Directors Dr. Umair Sattar, Irfan Karim and Ijaz Nawaz and Deputy Director of Food Department Imran Munir and District Food Controller Rai Yasin were also present.
Provincial Secretary Industries Dr. Ehsan Bhatta made a detailed review of the performance of Punjab Food Authority offices in the three districts and directed that the process of checking food items be further improved to ensure the availability of quality items to the public.
He said that operations against the mixed mafia are a jihad which should continue with the same determination.
He said that people are suffering from life-threatening diseases like stomach ulcers and cancer due to the use of non-standard items, so the staff of the Food Authority should continue checking on a daily basis.
He also directed to follow up the registered cases in the courts so that the perpetrators of heinous acts like adultery can be punished.
Later he also visited the office of the Food Department and reviewed the performance. He directed that the supply of flour to the public at a standard and controlled rate should be ensured in every case.
