Red Sea International Film Festival: Pakistani film wins Award

The Pakistani-Canadian horror film directed by Zarrar Khan has won the prize of one hundred thousand dollars.

In the ongoing Red Sea International Film Festival at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Pakistani film ‘In Flames’  has won the ‘Golden Yusr ‘ award for the best feature film.

The Pakistani-Canadian horror film directed by Zarrar Khan has won the prize of one hundred thousand dollars at the awards ceremony held on Thursday in the third edition of the film festival.

Director Zarrar Khan, while releasing a message on his social media, expressed his happiness over this success and expressed his desire to participate in the film festival, saying that he is currently in America.

He says that now he will submit this film for Oscars nomination on behalf of Pakistan.

The story of this film revolves around Maryam and her mother. Maryam is a medical student and lives with her mother Farah and younger brother in a small flat in Karachi after her father dies due to debts.

As such, her uncle offers to repay the debt to the debtors and gradually tries to evict Maryam and her family from their home.

Many famous showbiz personalities from around the world participated in the colorful film festival. While from Pakistan, Humayun Saeed, Samina Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan, Ahad Raza Mir and Sana Shah Nawaz graced the festival and celebrated the event on their social media accounts. The ongoing 10-day film festival in Saudi Arabia will end today.
