Polio Eradication

The Prime Minister also met with the polio eradication team and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to eliminate polio.

Earlier this month, the government conducted a nationwide vaccination campaign, marking the final effort of the year to combat the disease.

This effort is supported by 400,000 polio workers deployed across 143 districts to administer polio drops to every child under five.

In addition to Balochistan, Sindh has reported 18 cases, while Punjab and Islamabad each recorded one case in 2024.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the campaign by administering polio drops to children in Islamabad.
