Afghan Refugees Living in Sahiwal Division deported

Special centers (holding centers) have been established in all four provinces to keep foreigners separated from the population.

All undocumented foreigners and Afghans living in Sahiwal Division have been deported and now there are no foreigners except for 13 legally resident Afghans in Pakpattan.

Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed said this while giving details of eviction of illegal residents in the division. He said that as of October 31, there were 179 Afghan citizens residing illegally in Sahiwal Division, of which 74 were residing in Sahiwal District, 85 in Okara District and 20 in PakPattan District. He said that now all these Afghans have gone voluntarily.

It should be noted that the caretaker federal government of Pakistan decided to deport the illegal foreigners immediately after their arrest and instructions were sent to the local administration and police forces of all the provinces in this regard. Special centers (holding centers) have been established in all four provinces to keep foreigners separated from the population.
