Breast Cancer Diagnosis Machine inaugurated at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital
This machine will greatly help in the diagnosis of breast cancer in women.
In Pakistan, “Female Breast Cancer” is a rapidly spreading disease which can be screened at an early stage to save valuable lives.
In order to prevent this dangerous disease, it is important to inform the society about the disease and women should get their examination done regularly.
Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed said this while inaugurating the digital mammography machine in the radiology department of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital which has been installed with a huge sum of Rs.5 crore. This machine will greatly help in the diagnosis of breast cancer in women.
Principal Professor Dr. Muhammad Imran Hassan Khan, MS Dr. Akhtar Mehboob, Head of Department of Radiology Dr. Muhammad Saleem Akhtar, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Saeedi, Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Dr. Samiullah, Dr. Muntazar Mehdi, Dr. Ahmed Zeeshan Jameel, Dr. Zahid Sattar, Dr. Sajid Mustafa, Dr. Harunur Rehman Geelani, Dr. Sajjad Hussain Saber, Dr. Muhammad Waseem, Dr. Yasir Jamal, Dr. Rafi Abbas and paramedical staff also participated.
He urged the doctors to pay full attention to the treatment of patients so that maximum lives can be saved. He also directed to conduct a strong awareness campaign to prevent breast cancer.
Principal Professor Dr. Muhammad Imran Hasan Khan said that after the age of 40, the possibility of breast cancer increases in women. To prevent this disease, it is important that women regularly check themselves or consult a doctor.
Breast cancer is a curable disease provided it is detected early. Dr. Muhammad Salim Akhtar, head of the radiology department, said that 5 or 6 out of 100 women are being diagnosed with this disease, which is a cause for concern.
Later, at the MS office, the commissioner held an informal meeting with all the heads of the department and assured that the government and management are serious in solving the problems faced by the hospital and necessary steps will be taken to treat the patients.
Calling the notification of establishment of cardiology center in Sahiwal as a positive development, he also assured the establishment of children’s hospital and kidney center in the next phase.
