Senate passed the resolution to postpone Elections 2024 in Pakistan
There were only 14 senators in the House when the resolution was passed
The upper house of the Senate passed the resolution to postpone elections 2024 in Pakistan by majority vote.
The resolution to postpone the elections in the Senate was presented by Independent Senator Dilawar Khan. In his resolution, Dilawar Khan stated that:
“There have been attacks on security forces in KP and Balochistan. There is severe cold in most of the areas, due to which it is difficult for these areas to participate in the election process.”
Senator Dilawar Khan further said in the resolution that JUIF members and Mohsin Dawar were attacked, intelligence agencies issued threat alert during the election rally.
In the resolution, Senator Dilawar Khan has said that the Senate says that elections should not be held without resolving the issues. It has been appealed that the election schedule of February 8 should be postponed, the Election Commission should act on the postponement of the elections.
The Senate unanimously approved the resolution of Independent Senator Dilawar Khan to postpone the election. There were only 14 senators in the House when the resolution was passed.
