Pak Army Chief demands Secretary General UN to resolve Kashmir issue
Army Chief highlighted the ongoing issues of Kashmir and Gaza in particular.
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has visited the United Nations headquarters.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir met with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
In the conversation, the Army Chief highlighted the ongoing issues of Kashmir and Gaza in particular.
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir said that the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the resolutions of the Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. There can be no peace in South Asia until the long-standing dispute of Kashmir is resolved.
The Army Chief condemned the unilateral and illegal Indian attempt to change the status of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the unilateral and illegal Indian attempt is a violation of Security Council resolutions.
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir also reiterated Pakistan’s position on the Palestine issue.
Army Chief General Asim Munir said that the long-lasting solution to the Palestinian issue is in the two-state solution, Secretary General to mobilize the international community to immediately stop the aggression in Gaza.
The Army Chief also expressed deep concern over the plight of Palestinians who were deliberately targeted.
The Secretary General of the United Nations warmly welcomed and thanked the Chief of Army Staff on his arrival at the UN Headquarters.
The UN Secretary General appreciated the contribution of Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies for global peace and stability.
Apart from this, the Army Chief also held meetings with the Secretary of State, Defense Secretary and Deputy Secretary of State.
