Election Tribunal reserves decision on Imran Khan appeal

The Election Tribunal has reserved its decision on the appeal of PTI founder Imran Khan against the rejection of nomination papers from NA-89 Mianwali.
Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of the Election Tribunal reserved the decision after hearing the arguments of the parties.
Barrister Ali Zafar, Umair Niazi, Lamiya Niazi and other lawyers appeared in the Election Tribunal. DG Law Election Commission Arshad Malik appeared in the tribunal along with the team.
Barrister Ali Zafar argued against the PTI founder’s disqualification and said that the sentence in the Tosha Khana case has been suspended and the appeal is pending.
The tribunal asked the lawyer Ali Zafar that how long will you complete your arguments? Lawyer Ali Zafar said that he needed 45 minutes to complete his arguments.
The tribunal asked whether the details of the things taken in the closet were given. We will not discuss the merits of the Tosha Khana case here, why was the money earned by selling the Tosha Khana items not disclosed?
Lawyer Ali Zafar said that all things had been declared in the closet. On behalf of the Election Commission, Assistant Attorney General Tayeb Bilal gave arguments.
Talking to the media, Ali Zafar said that he told the court that the allegation made in the objections did not lead to disqualification, and the sentence of PTI founder Toshakhana case had been suspended.
He further said that he told the court that RO could not decide on disqualification, only a court could do it.
The Election Tribunal will announce its decision on Jan 10 at 10AM.
