PM Applauds Green Shirts for Dominating West Indies in 1st Test
The Green Shirts wrapped up the match with a dominant 127-run win, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Pakistan men’s cricket team for their exceptional performance in the first Test against the West Indies, securing a 127-run victory at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan, chasing a target of 251, bowled out the West Indies in the second innings, with Sajid Khan’s impressive five-wicket haul leading the charge.
The Green Shirts wrapped up the match with a dominant 127-run win, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
Sajid claimed 5-50, with match figures of 9-115, while leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed added 4-27 to dismiss the West Indies for just 123. The team’s spinners played a key role in the victory.
In a post on X, PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed his congratulations: “Brilliant bowling by Team Pakistan! Congratulations on a spectacular victory. Shabash!”
The cricket community, including former players, journalists, and fans, lauded the team, especially the spinners Sajid, Noman, and Abrar, whose contributions helped Pakistan claim the win.
ESPNcricinfo noted: “A third consecutive home Test for Pakistan where the spinners have taken all 20 wickets.”
Acknowledging Sajid Khan’s brilliant performance, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) praised his efforts on X: “18 wickets in two Tests at Multan Cricket Stadium. Sajid Khan turning it in Pakistan’s favour.”
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi also praised the spinners’ performances but stressed the importance of balanced pitches for future development: “Let’s set them up for long-term success!”
Junaid Khan, a former left-arm pacer, called Pakistan’s victory “truly a team effort,” highlighting contributions from both the bowlers and batsmen, including Rizwan, Saud Shakeel, and Shan Masood.
