Provincial Minister Specialized Health and Medical Education visits DHQ Sahiwal

Sahiwal (Sahiwal Updates – Director Public Relations) Provincial Minister of Specialized Health and Medical Education Department Prof. Javed Akram has said that the provision of necessary medical facilities in the teaching hospitals across the province, to remove the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff and to improve the infrastructure a comprehensive strategy is being worked on. It will greatly improve the availability of medical facilities to patients during treatment.

Establishment of Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology will also benefit thousands of patients of the division and surrounding areas where 2 angiography machines and 2 operation theaters will be made functional very soon.
He said this while talking to the media after presiding over a special meeting of faculty members at the MS Office of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital. Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed, Principal Professor Dr. Muhammad Imran Hasan Khan and Medical Superintendent Dr. Akhtar Mehboob were also with him.
Provincial Minister Professor Dr. Javed Akram said that with the support of the Social Welfare Department, special attention is being paid to the welfare of patients. He assured that in Sahiwal Teaching Hospital, staff shortage and patient-wise budget provision will be ensured and other problems faced by the hospital will also be solved with a proactive approach.
On this occasion, Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed thanked Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Provincial Health Minister Professor Javed Akram for the establishment of Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology and said that it has not only fulfilled a long-standing demand of the people. Rather, it will also promote advanced cardiac treatment in the hospital.
Earlier, the principal of the college Dr. Muhammad Imran Hasan Khan gave a detailed briefing about the problems faced by the hospital and said that after getting the status of a teaching hospital and the construction of a surgical tower, the number of beds in the hospital has increased from 377 to 1150, but the budget 377 beds are still being provided which is seriously affecting the service delivery of the hospital.
He also raised the issues of non-availability of parking plaza in the hospital, non-completion of the Board of Management and non-extension of contract faculty members’ contracts, which Provincial Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram assured that they have been resolved soon. will go
Addressing the faculty members, Prof. Javed Akram urged the doctors to focus their full attention on the treatment of the patient and receive the prayers of the suffering humanity. Later, he also inspected various wards of the hospital during which MS Dr. Akhtar Mahboob briefed him about the medical facilities available. The provincial minister also visited the inpatients and took information from them about the available treatment facilities.
